About the event
This class will meet 4 times, on Saturday, February 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th from 10 AM-noon.
In this 4 course class, learn the basics of oil painting in this four-part workshop taught by local artist Stephanie Hoff Clayton. The workshop is designed for students who are new to oil painting or anyone wanting a refresher. Techniques that will be taught include underpainting, layering, color mixing, blending, “erasing”, and much more. Students will have ample time to complete at least one painting based on a still-life arrangement.
About the teacher: Stephanie Hoff Clayton has been painting professionally for three decades. Of all the painting media she uses in her studio practice, oil is her favorite – an old, familiar friend. Stephanie will share her techniques and tips, while encouraging individual creative exploration.
